Polls open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Polling places for this election are as follows:
For the residents of the City of Clarence, Dayton Township, Fairfield Township and the residents in Oxford Township in Jones County, the precinct will be at St. John's United Church of Christ, 320 9th Avenue, Clarence.
For the residents of the City of Lowden, Massillion Township and Springfield Township, the precinct will be at Lowden City Hall, 501 Main St., Lowden.
For the residents of the City of Mechanicsville, Pioneer Township, Linn Township and the residents in Greenfield Township in Jones County, the precinct will be at the Memorial Building, 102 North John St., Mechanicsville.
For the residents of the City of Stanwood, Fremont Township, Red Oak Township and the residents in Rome and Hale Townships in Jones County, the precinct will be at the Masonic Hall, 215 East Broadway St., Stanwood.
For Jones County voters, if you want an absentee ballot mailed to you, please request that through the Cedar County Auditor. If you would like to vote in person please come to the Cedar County Auditor's office located at 400 Cedar St., Tipton.
The Auditor's Office will be open on February 19th from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Anyone wishing to vote absentee in the office or pre-register to vote may do so that day despite it being a federal holiday.
VOTER REGISTRATION DEADLINE:
Pre-registration deadline for voter registration closes at 5 p.m. on Monday, February 19, 2024. Persons wishing to participate in this election who register to vote after February 19, 2024, will be requirerd to provide proof of identification (i.e. current and valid photo identification card with an expiration date), AND proof of residency in their voting precinct, when they go to the polls on election day or voting in person at the office. If you intend to register and vote on election day, please be patient due to the extra processing it does take to complete this process at the polls on election day.
ABSENTEE VOTING DEADLINE:
February 14th - First day to absentee vote in the Auditor's Office and mail absentee ballots.
February 19th - Last day for Auditor's Office to mail absentee ballots.
All absentee ballots must be received in the Auditor's Office by 8 p.m. on election day to be counted.
Absentee voting is available at the Auditor's Office through Monday, March 4th.
