Archived Election Details

Polls open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Polling places for this election are as follows: 

Cedar County Voters only: Durant Community Center located  at 605 Fifth Avenue, Durant, Iowa.

Muscatine County Voters only:  Stockton City Hall located at 318 Commerce Street, Stockton, Iowa.

Scott County Voters only: Calvary United Methodist Church located at 100 E. James St., Walcott, Iowa.

If you choose to absentee vote early, please remember that you must go to the Auditor's office in whichever county you reside in. Example: If you reside in Muscatine County and are eligible to vote in this election and wish to vote early, you must do so at the Muscatine County Auditor's office. 

December 27th - First day to submit an absentee ballot request form.

February 15th - First day to absentee vote in the Auditor's Office and mail absentee ballots.

February 20th - Last day for Auditor's office to mail absentee ballots. 

The Auditor's Office will be open on February 20th from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Anyone wishing to vote absentee in the office or pre-register to vote may do so that day despite it being a federal holiday. 

VOTER REGISTRATION DEADLINE:

Pre-registration deadline for voter registration closes at 5 p.m. on Monday, February 20, 2023. Persons wishing to participate in this election who register to vote after February 20, 2023, will be required to provide proof of identification (i.e. current and valid photo identification card with an expiration date), AND proof of residency in their voting precinct, when they go to the polls on election day or voting in person at the office. If you intend to register and vote on election day, please be patient due to the extra processing it does take to complete this process at the polls on election day. 

Due to recent legislation changes, all absentee ballots must be received in the Auditor's office by 8 p.m. on election day to be counted.

Absentee voting is available at the Auditor's Office through Monday, March 6th.

Public Measure DN

Shall the Board of Directors of the Durant Community School District in the Counties of Cedar, Muscatine, and Scott, State of Iowa, be authorized to contract indebtedness and issue General Obligation Bonds in an amount not to exceed $15,600,000 to provide funds to renovate, remodel, repair, improve, expand, furnish and equip portions of the existing building, including theater and gymnasium spaces, classrooms, HVAC and electrical systems, and administrative office spaces including security improvements?

Public Measure DO

Shall the Board of Directors of the Durant Community School District in the Counties of Cedar, Muscatine, and Scott, State of Iowa, be authorized to levy annually a tax exceeding Two Dollars and Seventy Cents ($2.70) per Thousand Dollars ($1,000), but not exceeding Four Dollars and Five Cents ($4.05) per Thousand Dollars ($1,000) of the assessed value of the taxable property within said school corporation to pay the principal of and interest on bonded indebtedness of said school corporation, it being understood that the approval of this proposition shall not limit the source of payment of the bonds and interest, but shall only operate to restrict the amount of bonds which may be issued?
